Q: How do I buy and activate LooKeys.

A: Purchasing LooKeys can be done in two ways:

  1. Pressing on the Online store menu and purchasing LooKeys.
    At the Online Store you can:
        a.     Purchase LooKeys - done by clicking on “BUY NOW” icons:       
                After purchasing a license code will send to your Email.
        b.     Upgrade to LooKeys PRO – After upgrading to LooKeys Pro you’ll receive a license code by Email and a camera within 14 days (India residents only).
  2. Six days before trial period expiration a dialog will appear, whenever LooKeys is launched, you may select one of the
    following:
        a.     The "Continue" option to continue using LooKeys.
        b.     The "Purchase LooKeys” option, to purchase a license and get your activation key. Online purchase process is
                secured, easy and quick. By the end of the purchase process you will receive an activation key to your Email address.
        c.     The “Activate LooKeys" option to insert the Activation Key you received     by mail after purchasing.
 

 A: Please press right click with the mouse on LooKeys icon and select “Properties” and select “Advanced”, in the following dialog check the “Run as administrator” box.  


Q: I used manual activation but didn’t get the activation key.

A: Manual activation is used by users that purchased LooKeys offline. Only users with a valid purchase approval number will get the activation key in this way.


Q: I just purchased LooKeys and followed the activation instructions, but I cannot activate the application.

A: LooKeys activation key is valid only to the computer you made the purchase from. If you want to use LooKeys on another computer as well, then you need to purchase another license for that computer.


Q: I just purchased LooKeys but didn’t get any activation mail.

A: Kindly send us the approval you got from the credit card company / PayPal and the date of purchase and we will get back to you shortly.


Q: I just purchased LooKeys but there is no key in my activation key field.

A: Kindly do the following:
     1.    Send us the approval you got from the credit card company / PayPal and the date of purchase.
     2.    Launch LooKeys go to the ´Help´ menu and choose the ´Manual Activation´ option.
     3.    Insert your email address and your transaction approval number.
            You will receive your activation key soon after.

Q: Can LooKeys work with Microsoft Word?

A: LooKeys can work hand in hand with Microsoft word editor. It’s simply done by opening MS word and launching LooKeys.


Q: How do I change the keyboard colors?

A: Changing the keyboard colors can be done by entering to "Display" menu and then selecting ´Keyboard Display´.


Q: How can I use the virtual hands?

A: First of all, you need to have a webcam that meets the system minimum requirements. You can get one from us for free, if you buy LooKeys Pro.
After connecting the camera, go to ´Camera´ menu, choose ´Enable Camera´ and follow the instructions.


Q: How can I match the virtual keyboard to my physical keyboard?

A: To change the selection of your virtual keyboard Click on ´Display´ Menu and choose ´Choose Keyboard type´.


Q: When I press a key it’s not highlighted.

A: Click on ´Display´ Menu and select ´Keyboard Display´. A key will not be highlighted if the same color is defined at the ´Keyboard Color Settings´ and at the ´Highlight Color Settings´.


Q: I can’t write in the LooKeys Word Editor.

A: Please check that you’re internet connection is available. The Word Editor is available only Online.


Q: I cannot find the initial letters ‘a’ and ‘e’.

A: Some of the words will present after holding the ‘Shift’ key. Please hold the “shift” key and notice that the letters appear.  


Q: How to get ‘|’ or ‘?’ letters?

A: Currently, the only way to get ‘|’ or ‘?’ is to switch to English.  At the relevant place choose the character you want and then get back to your language and continue writing in you language.



Installation / Windows Issues

: Why can’t I install LooKeys?

A: If the installation process gets stuck in the middle, the best thing to do is to follow these 3 simple steps:

  1. Delete the installation file.
  2. Download LooKeys again but make sure to save it under a different name.
  3. Run the installation file again.

If that didn’t help kindly let us know.


Q: I see squares on the virtual keyboard, what should I do?

A: If your system does not support Indic characters follow the next steps:

On Windows XP:

    Adding languages at Windows XP is done by installing the complex script.
    All you need is to do, is to download LooKeys Languages from here:
    LooKeys Languages and run it.

On Windows 2000:

    Adding languages at Windows 2000 is done by installing the complex script.
    All you need is to do, is to download LooKeys Languages from here:
   
LooKeys Languages Windows 2000 and run it.

    Please note that Windows 2000 Service pack 4 is needed. 
    It can be downloaded from Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4).


Q: I am using Windows 2000. Why can’t I choose Telugu or Bengali?

A: Windows 2000 supports Hindi, Marathi and Tamil.


Q: I am using Windows XP. Why can’t I choose Bengali or Gujarati?

A: Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam and Urdu languages are not supported by windows XP SP1. In order to install them you’ll need SP2.

If Service Pack 1 is installed, Service Pack 2 patch can be downloaded from here: Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).


Q: How can I find out which Service Pack I have?

A: If you don’t know which service pack is installed on your system, do as follow:
      Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System.
Or: Start > Control Panel > System.


Q: I keep getting a message saying that I don’t have DirectX 9 installed on my computer.

A: If DX9 is missing it can be downloaded from DirectX 9.


Q: Why can’t I run LooKeys?

A: If you successfully installed LooKeys but you can’t run it please tell us why can’t you run it: Are you getting any error messages? If so kindly detail them or if possible send us a print screen of them.


Q: I have a collision between LooKeys and another application. What should I do?

A: If you have any collusion with other applications, please send us the name of the other application, we will investigate the problem and solve it as soon as possible.


Q: Does LooKeys work on Linux machines?

A: No, at this moment we support only Microsoft Windows operating systems.


Q: Can I use my LooKeys on Windows Vista?

A: Yes, LooKeys supports Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Windows XP (SP1 or SP2) or Windows Vista.

Q: When I try to update LooKeys on Vista OS I receive the following message: “You do not have the sufficient privileges to install the application. You need to login as administrator"

A: Please press right click with the mouse on LooKeys icon and select “Properties” and select  Advanced”, in the following dialog check the “Run as administrator” box.
